Combat-TKD
http://www.combat-tkd.com/
Combat-TKD is focused on the practical aspects of Taekwondo.
Each month they release a newsletter with articles on various aspects of Taekwondo training and practice.
In previous months these have included articles on a variety of
subjects -- the often-overlooked art of punching in TKD,
adapting "sport" techniques to "street" techniques, and
psychological preparation for real-life self-defense situations.
Although they offer a fee-based subscription for their complete
newsletter, they are dedicated to providing free articles each
month. To read their most recently published material you
can
visit their site and
click on "Articles" from the menu. (You'll need to provide an
email address for access, but don't worry you won't be getting
any SPAM from them.) An archive of their older articles is
available via our
Taekwondo Library. |
The Martial Arts Resource for Korean Arts
http://www.martialartsresource.com/korean/korframe.htm
This site is home to The Dojang Digest, one of the best-known
mailing lists for discussions on Taekwondo and all things
related to Korean martial arts. You'll also find a Taekwondo
bookstore, resources, links and answers to frequently asked
questions. All of this courtesy of Ray Terry. |
Master Mac's Homepage
http://mchenry.homeip.net/TangSooDo/
Master Mac is a Tang Soo Do instructor, but his site contains
pattern descriptions as well as video demonstrations of nearly
every Taekwondo and Tang Soo Do pattern. There are links to
plenty of other resources to keep you busy, including a
discussion forum for beginners and experts alike. |
Universal Taekwondo Brotherhood
http://www.utbtaekwondo.us/
An excellent site for descriptions of the Taekwondo patterns.
If you're having trouble with the descriptions that my site
provides, you can take a look here to see if it helps. Both ITF
and WTF patterns are posted, although I don't think the layout
is as user-friendly as mine. This site contains other
information on Taekwondo as well. |
The I.T.F.'s official bulletin boards.
http://www.itf-information.com/bbs.htm
On the ITF's official website. Several interesting discussions
take place here. The only negative point is that, because it's
the official ITF site, you'll find very few opinions or ideas
that lie outside the scope of the ITF's instruction or agenda.

The I.T.F.'s official descriptions of the patterns.
http://www.itf-information.com/patterns.htm
If you don't like the way I've described the patterns here on my
site or just want to see what the ITF has to say, this is the
place to start. Also has information on the meanings of the
pattern names and correct pronunciation. Unfortunately, no
pictures. |
The W.T.F.'s official descriptions of the patterns.
http://www.kukkiwon.or.kr/eng/tkskill/pomsae_index.asp?div=3&
Get the pattern descriptions right from the source. This site
lists the movements in English and romanized Korean. Also
contains step-by-step photographs for all of the WTF patterns.

The meanings of the W.T.F. patterns.
http://www.wtf.org/site/about_taekwondo/poomsae.htm
Presents the meanings of the patterns as promulgated by the
W.T.F. |
The W.T.F.'s official bulletin boards.
http://www.wtf.org/site/community/bulletin.htm
Although located on the WTF's official site, these boards are
not very user-friendly and usually not very interesting. |
American Karate and Taekwondo Organization.

Excellent resource operated and maintained by Keith D. Yates,
author of several books on Taekwondo. Here you'll find titles
of his books and videos as well as information on the patterns.

Taekwondo Terminology
http://www.martialartsresource.com/korean/TKD.list.htm
This is an excellent resource for those who would like to know
how to pronounce every little thing they would ever want to say
in the dojang. It is an outstanding reference for beginners and
experienced students alike. I must warn you, though, that if
you speak Korean you might be disappointed. Some of the
romanizations are not exactly on target. However, for
most students this page will be an invaluable reference that
should either be saved to one's computer or bookmarked for
future reference. This is part of the Martial Arts Resource by
Ray Terry. |
The Tae Kwon Do Tutor
http://tkdtutor.com/
Lots of interesting stuff. Too much to comment on here, but
this is an excellent site that deserves a look. There's lots of
material to cover. |
AZ Taekwondo
http://www.aztaekwondo.com/forms.html
This site contains several video demonstrations of ITF patterns. |
Taekwondo Articles
http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Stadium/5097/articles.html
